Looking to take your public relations career to the next level?

Attaining your Accreditation in Public Relations (APR) is an ideal way to showcase your knowledge and experience, and differentiateAPR-Est-1964 yourself in your field. PRSA Maryland will once again be forming an APR Candidate Group for those interested in pursuing their APR in 2016. In 2015, three members of the candidate group successfully attained their APR and others are continuing to work toward the designation. The group is designed to provide interested  candidates with:

  • A clear understanding of the process from application through testing
  • Guidance for preparing for both the Readiness Review and the exam
  • An opportunity to talk with mentor APRs who have been through the process
  • A forum for dialoguing with other candidates and supporting one another

There will be four sessions this winter held on Tuesdays from 5:30-7:30 p.m. with both in-person and virtual  participation options. Exact locations and dial-in information will be disseminated to those who express interest via email.

January 12 – Kickoff Meeting/APR Process Deep Dive
January 26 – APR Competencies/Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Overview
February 9 – Readiness Review Portfolio Presentation Prep Session
February 23 – Meeting with Mentors/Readiness Review Dry Run Breakout Sessions

Following the initial four meetings, we will hold brief monthly calls on Fridays through spring to touch base on everyone’s progress.

If you are interested in joining the group, please email Jennifer Kellar, APR, at jennifer.kellar@aecom.com.
