COMMITTEES

Joining a committee is one of the best ways to get more involved with PRSA Maryland. Whether your skillsets are advanced or expanding, there is a place for you on one of our committees. For more information, email info@prsamd.org.

You can work when you want and how much you want. Contact us for more information.

APR Committee

Members of the APR Committee provide training necessary for applicants to successfully obtain the Accreditation in Public Relations (APR) credential. Volunteers provide study resources, mentoring and coaching to APR candidates as well as help applicants prepare for the panel presentation and APR exam.

Best in Maryland Awards Gala Committee

Help plan the chapter’s premier event, Best in Maryland Award Gala. Volunteers help develop the event’s agenda, secure speakers and assist with logistics the day of the event.

Communications Committee

Write content for and design the chapter’s member newsletter, WebNotes; write content for and post to the chapter’s social media channels; write and distribute press releases to the media; as well as develop and execute publicity plans for major chapter events.

Conference Committee

The annual Maryland Conference is the chapter’s largest professional development and networking event. Volunteers help develop the agenda, secure speakers and assist with logistics the day of the event. Have an idea for a speaker/topic? Want to be involved? Contact us.

Diversity and Inclusion Committee

Newly formed in 2020, the Diversity and Inclusion Committee will develop and oversee the D&I strategy and goals for the Chapter. If you would like to participate, please contact us below.

Membership Committee

Manage member recruitment and retention plans. Create and execute membership campaigns to attract new members and keep current members involved with the chapter.

Mentoring Committee

Recruit experienced chapter members to be mentors to new professionals. Potential mentees complete an application and then committee members match mentors with mentees.

New Professionals Committee

The New Professionals Committee organizes networking events for local PR professionals who have fewer than five years of experience. Committee volunteers work with our local PRSSA student chapters to get them involved with the Maryland Chapter.

Programming Committee

Help plan monthly networking and professional development events for chapter members. Plus, when you help plan and/or work a monthly event, you receive a 50% discount to that event. Click here to learn more.

Sponsorship Committee

Secure in-kind and financial sponsors to support the chapter’s initiatives. Volunteers maintain and update chapter sponsorship materials and communicate with sponsors on an as-needed basis to maintain mutually beneficial partnerships.

Micro-volunteer

If you cannot commit to a long-term assignment or don’t want to serve on a committee, we have a number of opportunities for ad hoc volunteers. You can work when you want and how much you want. Contact us at info@prsamd.org for more information.
