You’ll meet Rachel Fontana, brand director for the distillery who will share Sagamore’s journey to market, how she and her branding team help build the Sagamore brand and grow the business, and how they use focus groups to form brand strategies and tactics.
And, learn the history of rye whiskey in Maryland, see Sagamore Spirit’s 40-foot copper column still, and taste three of their award-winning whiskies.

About our tour guide: Rachel Fontana is the Brand Director at Sagamore Spirit, focusing primarily on developing the PR and marketing efforts for Sagamore’s award-winning rye whiskey products and world-class waterfront distillery. Rachel has been with Sagamore Spirit since early 2013, helping develop the product story, packaging, and visitor experience. In less than one year, the distillery is now ranked #2 on TripAdvisor for “Things to do in Baltimore.”
Rachel is an MBA candidate at Johns Hopkins Carey Business School and enjoys hiking and rock climbing. She lives in Canton with her husband and very old, but very cute, cat.
