FREE Virtual Event: Elevating Public Service Through Stories: Fireside Chat with Michael Ricci
PRSA Maryland is partnering with PRSA NCC and Chesapeake PRSA chapters and the National Association of Government Communicators to present: "Elevating Public Service Through Stories: Fireside Chat with Michael Ricci."
With a background in speechwriting, Michael Ricci worked his way up to managing the largest communications team on Capitol Hill, then served as director of communications in one of the nation’s most diverse states, overseeing more than 120 public information officers and coordinating all marketing and messaging campaigns. While serving in Maryland, Ricci’s leadership of the state’s public relations response to the COVID-19 pandemic was viewed as a “masterclass in crisis communications.” For this, he was recognized by The Daily Record as an Influential Marylander.
Join us for a lively conversation moderated by Anthony Shop, Co-Founder and Chief Strategy Officer of Social Driver inspired by Ricci’s guest commentary published earlier this year that opened with “Public service remains a noble calling. It is singularly gratifying — if at times grueling — work that offers the opportunity to make a difference and represent the people.”
Through recollections of Ricci’s career in public service as a speechwriter and storyteller, attendees of this webinar will enjoy frontline insights from his past senior communications roles in the office of Maryland Governor Larry Hogan and the speakerships of both John Boehner and Paul Ryan.
In 2023, prior to joining Seven Letter, a full-service bipartisan strategic communications firm, Ricci was a Fellow at the Georgetown Institute of Politics and Public Service, leading a discussion group titled Comms in Crisis: Navigating Disasters, Disillusionment and Disinformation.
This fireside chat is sponsored by PRSA NCC together with the Maryland and Chesapeake PRSA chapters and National Association of Government Communicators.
