PRSA Mid-Atlantic District APR Boot Camp

The PRSA Mid-Atlantic District is hosting the country’s third-ever District APR Boot Camp April 5 – 8, 2017 at the Jefferson Lakeside Country Club in Richmond, Va.!  (Our Mid-Atlantic District hosted the first and second one, too.)

Why register for the APR Boot Camp?

The APR Boot Camp is a four-day intensive course for candidates to prepare and advance through the Readiness Review™ and take the computer-based Examination for Accreditation in Public Relations (APR) or Accreditation in Public Relations + Military Communication (APR+M)

This course is designed to provide a setting that will meet the needs of busy professionals whose schedules don’t permit extensive preparation time.

The Presenters

Liz Smith, APR, MBA,  2015 chair, PRSA Mid-Atlantic District and president, PRSA Central PA Chapter and Integrated Communications Ventures. Liz facilitates the Readiness Review preparation (Day 1).

Jason S. Kirsch, APR, senior director, communications and brand engagement, Capital BlueCross. Jason facilitates the computer-based Examination preparation (Days 2 and 3).

Amy Beisel Hill, APR, communications director, Pennsylvania Catholic Conference (PCC). Amy facilitates the computer-based Examination preparation (Days 2 and 3).

Schedule

  • Day one: Readiness review preparation in the morning, followed by a readiness review panel in the afternoon
  • Day two: Full day preparation for computer-based examination
  • Day three: Morning preparation session for computer-based examination, afternoon peer study time
  • Day four: Computer-based exam at the Prometric Testing Center in Glen Allen, Va.

Fee: $400

Please note: There is an additional $385 fee to take the APR exam; however, those fees are at least partially reimbursed by PRSA National, pending successful completion of the exam.

Spots are limited to 18 participants, so register soon on PRSA National’s website.

Calling All PRSA Members in the Mid-Atlantic District! The PRSA International Conference in Atlanta will commence with the Sunday Gala in the Marriott’s Atrium Ballroom at 7 p.m.

PRSA Mid-Atlantic District Chair Liz Smith, APR, and District Chair-elect Kevin Gaydosh, APR, invite District members to meet at 5 p.m. at Marriott’s Pulse Bar. This is your opportunity to meet your District Chair and Co-chair as well as fellow members from Chapters throughout the Mid-Atlantic District.

Even if you are not attending the gala, please join District members from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the cash bar. Click here for more details.
