Description

Brazer Communications, a full-service marketing communications firm based in San Francisco, seeks a full-time writer and social media manager to work in their client’s office outside of Baltimore, MD. The client is a leading VA mortgage lender serving military veterans.

Responsibilities

The candidate will become part of the Brazer Communications team for the client, providing a range of integrated marketing services from thought-leadership events to publicity, content and execution of a social media strategy. They will also be a fully participating staffer in the client’s company, on site. Primary responsibilities will include:

  • Drafting creative content for use in marketing communications, including bylined articles, advertorials, social media content, blogs, promotional copy, press releases and media alerts
  • Serving as “on the ground” liaison between Brazer and the client, attending appropriate meetings to gather information and learn about priorities and seeking approvals from the CEO and/or leadership team members
  • Helping to generate and research story ideas, uncover facts and details needed for various communications
  • Distributing content via client social media channels and executing consistent, responsive social media strategy; monitoring social media “conversations” that are relevant for client and participating in such conversations
  • Helping to plan and staff thought-leadership and other events

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in journalism or communications
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in writing published content
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills
  • Familiarity and experience with major social media channels for consumers and business (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn)
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated creative and strategic thinking/execution
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Dogged follow-through
  • Scrupulous attention to detail
  • Flexibility with day-to-day activities
