Do you Know the
10 Questions To Ask Before You Craft Your Social Media Strategy?
Join Dr.
Sean Carton from idfive
on Thursday, November 19, for a conversation on developing
a real social media strategy. Not only will you hear his ten questions
for social media strategy success, but you'll also discover what you
actually do with social media and how can you use it to engage customers,
build sales, or find prospects - among other must-needed PR advice.
Sean will
dispel myths about social media strategies. Then he'll provide us with
a practical 10-step framework that you can use with your clients (or
your own company) to develop a comprehensive, intelligent, and reality-based
social media strategy that fits into your overall communications' plan
and gets results.
Sean Carton
is the chief creative officer of idfive,
where he helps clients understand the constantly changing intersections
between design, marketing, communication and technology. As the founder
of one of Baltimore's first Web development firms in 1995, the founding
dean of the School of Design and Media at Philadelphia University, and
the co-author of one of the first books about the Web ("The Mosaic
Quick Tour" series) in 1993, Carton has over 12 years of experience
designing, developing, planning and executing interactive media.
Thanks
to University of Baltimore's School of Communications Design, our event

During the first week of November, PRSA-MD will partner with the Community
College of Baltimore County for “Communications Week,” an occasion that
will afford CCBC students the opportunity to explore various professions
in the communications field. The event will include visiting speakers
from businesses and organizations around Greater Baltimore. Please consider
offering an hour of your time on Thursday, November 5, to explain to
students on the Dundalk campus what it is that you do. It's a great
way to give back and share your expertise in a meaningful way. For more

Kathleen
Kelly Undergraduate Scholarship - Applications due Nov. 15
With midterms is full swing, PRSA Maryland has extended the deadline
for the Kathleen
Kelly Undergraduate Scholarship to November 15. That buys you two
additional weeks to help a deserving student complete their application
to win $1,000 towards their education.
Who in
these economic times cannot benefit from $1,000? Plus, financial need
is not considered. If you know of a deserving sophomore or junior attending
a Maryland university, or residing in Maryland but studying outside
the state, nominate them for the $1,000 award. The winner will be recognized
at a future PRSA event. For more details or an application, visit our
awards
page. Remember, applications must be postmarked by November 15,
2009!
