Communications Committee:
Chair: Laura LaChapelle
The Communications Committee writes and edits PRSA-MD’s eNewsletter, WebNotes, and aids in crafting the Chapter’s event promotion and in making posts to the Chapter’s blog, Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn sites. Want to write a couple posts? Email Laura!
Membership Committee
Chair: Dionne McConkey
The Membership Committee works to build and sustain our Chapter membership via emails, calls, surveys and events. Have time for a couple phone calls? Email Dionne!
New Professionals Committee
Chair: Ashley Gutridge
The New Professionals Committee organizes networking opportunities for local PR professionals who have less than 5 years of experience. They also work with our local PRSSA student chapters to get them involved with the Maryland Chapter of PRSA. Want to help set up a happy hour or have some great ideas to get new professionals involved in the Chapter? Email Ashley!
Sponsorship Committee
Chair: Dana Vickers Shelley
The Sponsorship Committee works to secure year-long and event-specific sponsorships for the Chapter, and then maintains those relationships year-to-year. Do you have great contacts or have time for a few phonecalls? Email Dana!
We are looking for volunteers! Are you a dynamo at generating sponsorship dollars? A whiz at crafting and editing marketing communications? A customer service guru who can work your magic on our member communications? An event planning expert who would love to work on our annual conference committee? Or are you looking to increase your skills and connect with other local PR professionals?
There are many benefits to joining or chairing a committee or being an open volunteer who helps as available throughout the year. They include:
- Earn APR credits
- Expand your network of PR professionals
- Build your professional reputation
- Enhance your professional PR skills
- Meet high profile members of the professional and the business community
- Develop leadership skills by becoming a leader of a project or even a committee chairperson
- Get to know the chapter’s board of directors
- Make new friends and have fun
Whether you want to be on a committee (minimum time commitment of 2 hours a month) or volunteer for a short and sweet (yet professionally beneficial) task like posting on Twitter or giving us some great ideas, contact the PRSA-Maryland office. |
